The toll booth has the appearance of an old hermitage. It is
incorporated onto the parapet so must be assumed
to be of a similar age to the bridge; i.e. 17C, before turnpiking. The
current floor level is below the tarmac pavement level. The building is bare
and looks uncared for, though it is a robust structure that is safe in the
short term. There is a circular hole in the side wall, giving good visibility
over the bridge. |
